Amicoat in Asker, Norway

Extraction arms for new laboratory

After several years of activities spread across two different locations in Tromsø and Asker, Amicoat decided in 2023 to consolidate all its activities in Asker, Norway. This biotechnology company needed a new laboratory to support its research and development. The new lab was intended to enhance Amicoat’s work in developing antimicrobial technology for medical equipment.

To realise this vision, Amicoat chose to collaborate with Kilab AS, a longstanding partner of JRV A/S, known for its expertise in laboratory design and equipment. Amicoat selected Kilab AS based on a combination of price, delivery time, and the support they could offer. Kilab was involved in the project from the initial phases, providing extensive advice ranging from design to the delivery of laboratory furniture and equipment. The result is a fully operational laboratory of 110 square meters, divided into sections for chemical synthesis, analysis, and microbiology.

JRV A/S contributed to the project by supplying flexible extraction arms . These extraction arms were integrated into Kilab’s laboratory furniture, both in cabinets and on walls, ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

The laboratory was completed in January 2024 and now serves as the headquarters for both Amicoat’s existing research team and new employees. Amicoat is extremely satisfied with the outcome, which has not only enhanced their research capacity but also improved the collaborative and innovative environment within the organisation.
